  • Village Cay Marina

C9FJ+7W6, Nibbs St, Road Town VG1110, British Virgin Islands

  • From the airport (EIS) on Beef Island (which connects to Tortola via the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge), you can grab a cab to take you to Village Cay Marina. Pre-arranging your transport will make the trip quicker and more comfortable. Campbell’s Taxi Service is the private service recommended by VIYC.

If you arrive to Tortola from USVI via ferry or water taxi, you’ll first clear customs and either grab a taxi, meet your driver if you pre-arranged a ride or take a 7 minute walk if you arrived at the Road Town Ferry Terminal!

  • There are a few services that you can order groceries and have them delivered but we found that walking over to Bobby’s supermarket which is less than .5 miles is super easy.

For nice steaks and fish its worth the taxi ride to Steakation Wickham's Cay II, Road Town, British Virgin Islands http://www.bvibutcher.com/

  • We try to travel light but for a great trip we recommend.

Swim Towel - there are towels supplied with the charter but I like light weight beach towel that I can use after a swim.

Snorkel & Mask - the charter company can supply both, many people bring their own mask and dry snorkel and get just the fins from the charter company team.

Light Provisioning. Some things you love at home are easier to just bring. For us that good coffee, tea bags, some spices for grilling and sunscreen

  • Most days you do not need a lot of cash. Many marinas have ice and trash service.

$5 per trash bag - pro trip bring or get big black garbage bags and put your smaller bags in it since they charge by the bag not the size.

$30-$50 marina mooring balls. Many of the first come first serve balls will have a fee that is collected by the local mooring filed owner.

We also keep cash for some of the boat vendors that bring around pastries or vegetables. Keep an eye out for them as this is a great island local service that is always worth it.

  • You can order wi-fi from the charter company but we typically just use cellular which is generally ok when your within a mile of an island. Some spotty areas of course.

Download lots of music in advance and embrace disconnecting is my plan

  • Boaty Ball and Local Marina First Come First Serve balls are usually $50-$60 per night

  • Totally depends on your speed and vibe. Come during high season and the weather is amazing but crowds are a bit bigger.

Shoulder seasons are great with easier mooring at the great spots but typically a random day time shower which I don’t mind.

  • We like to keep it simple. For nicer restaurants guys wear shorts and a collar shirt such as a button up short sleeve or polo. ladies love a good sundress or just shorts and a top.

No you never need dress shoes

No you never need a tie

Even the nicest restaurants will have a table or three of people who just rolled in wearing bathing suits and willyTs T-shirts.
